CANARY SYSTEMS FALL 2008 UPDATE

DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEMS AND SOFTWARE FOR DEMANDING ENVIRONMENTS SINCE 1997

MLWeb: Web Data Access!
Get Your Data Anywhere

MLWeb: Web based data access!

MLWeb represents the latest advancement of our software system, it essentially consists of "bridging" software that interfaces the latest .NET web functionality from Microsoft with our MultiLoggerDB system. This provides a way for the end-users to manage their systems using MultiLogger, to automate the collection of data using the Agent feature and then to create and manage the database project using our standard MultiLoggerDB software components, including the Database Console and Insite.

MLWeb then interfaces the Windows Server machine with the database to provide the interface that the user has developed, including project views, sensor locations, current readings, and pre-programming outputs that include columnar reports, charts and Microsoft Excel based spreadsheets.

With an appropriate server and connectivity it allows for easy, secure, cost-effective web based data access deployment.

The Reuter-Hess Reservoir project originated over twenty years ago in connection with water requirements for the Parker, Colorado, USA area. Initially, the Parker Water and Sanitation District (PWSD) requested a water right to utilize water from Cherry Creek. Over time, they were granted permission to create the Reuter-Hess Reservoir with surface and... more >>

PRODUCT NEWS:

Canary Systems programmers have been hard at work adding features to our software and improving their functionality and reliability. A brief summary of these improvements:

MultiLogger

networkconfigurationexample1Improved support for specifying and loading non-MultiLogger generated programs when using the CR2xx/CR800/CR1000 MCU’s. For example, the Text Monitor can be configured with locations defined in the Public table of your .CRx program. We also improved support for user defined locations and arrays when using MultiLogger to configure the CR2xx/CR800/CR1000 MCU’s.

MLDBConsole

The new Import Wizard allows creating Location Files (data file definitions) for virtually any ASCII data file. The location and format of the date/time stamp can be configured, project description and data location in addition to the elements to be imported. This new functionality provides for the import of data from other sources such as LoggerNet generated data files. In addition we’ve added automation capabilities to the database module so your Windows Scheduler can be used to completely automate the import of these data files.

Insite

A Site Map feature has been added which allows an entire project or project area to be defined as the default window, then by adding new “Window Linking” icons you can easily navigate to the related image windows. Linking is allowed on an unlimited level to allow representing complex projects that include numerous image windows. In addition the Window Link icons will color to match the alarm status of all linked windows. The Site Map then provides a quick overview of the project for linking as well as the overall alarm status of the entire project.

Numerous other features including enhanced configuration tools for the outputs, added functionality for the Formula Editor such as a Project picker for Data or Calculated Elements and a Y1900 insert function.

New historical functions provide for developing very sophisticated Calculated Elements, e.g. creating a Calculated Element to represent average velocity over a time period. These elements can be output directly to the Readings Boxes for display, output to a report, chart or spreadsheet and used for alarms and notification.

MLWeb

A number of improvements have been released including enhancements to the notification tabs to allow Administrators and Project Managers to acknowledge and delete any of the 4 types of Notification Events. We’ve also added a third data entry form designed to provide easier viewing of data records.
